So, I'm officially drawn in this weekend's Club Championships

Aztecs,

It's just another strokeplay competition. Keep it simple, keep the ball in play off the tee, and play your normal game. Don't try to be too clever or too fancy and you'll get round no problem at all.

At the end of the day it's just another card you're puting in.

BIG COMP = BIG EFFORT???

Not at all ... IF and that is a big if, you are able to play the first hole in a 'safe' manner and that could be 5 w+5w+8i or something similar but NOT looking for 280yd drive and 250yd 3w to front of green.

The latter would be super, raise your profile with your other partners and allow you to stand on the 2nd tee with your chest puffed out but, if the said partners have had to search for your ball off the 1st tee, you then have to go back and hit another holding up the other games desperate to get on the tee, you will not be the flavour of the month!

Option one is the tried and tested route especially if you have any first tee nerves.

Enjoy!

keep it simple! Ignore how your partners play, they could be off 2 or 28, so play your game.

Stay in the present. forget the last hole, don't worry about the next one. Deal with what's in front of you.

ENJOY IT!!!!!

Two years ago our club championship was was won by a new member in his first competition. It was a gross competition and he did play off scratch though. :D :D Thought i would just share this bit of useless information with you Jon. :p :p
