One of playing partners needed to get a card in before the end of the year, so my fourball played in a qualifying stableford today. Wasn't that bothered myself as the the weather was dire when we set off, but fortunately the rain stopped, and the sun even came out for a few holes. Course in good condition with only two greens having any surface water.

Managed a fairly steady round, no blobs, and ended up winning with 39 points. Cut to 10.2, so will finish the year with the same handicap I started with. ;)

Any one else play today ?

Nice way to finish the year rich,

Just back from a range play session just goofing and trying stuff, found about 15 yards more in my 8, 6 irons, same in my hybrids, turns out not taking this game serious maybe be the best thing! Playing a customer tomorrow so need to take a half sensible game to the course tomorrow

good work fella  did you wear your pringle jumper?

our course is closed :(

supposed to be playing tomorrow and Saturday, doesn't look hopeful, the forecast is rubbish

No, full waterproofs to start with today, so saving the Pringle for West Hill. Haven't worn it for 30 years so hope it fits.:mmm:

I'm sure it will fit like a glove.

In the absence of any golf I'm gonna buy myself some golf gear. I may even pick up a geometric george

Well done Richart, always nice to get a little cut when you dont expect it. Played today in the on/off rain. Blobbed the first after a terrible shank then scored 18 points over the next 8. Went on to score 26 points on the back 9 and a gross 85 overall with a massive bit of help thanks to my first ever eagle on the SI5 16th. How does 2 for 6 points sound?

well-done Rich - single-figures again soon.
I played for the first time in a few weeks in Captain's Final Fling - supposed to be a team event but attendance was poor so single stableford - was 1 worse than handicap when our group played the 18th (due to finish on 6) but, due to a lone slow group in front and generally poor scores, the lure of the bar got the better of us!!:D Weather was absolutely awful at 9am when we started but not too bad after 15 mins - course was wet but they had ironed the greens and they were really nice, if still on the slow side

This is one thing that really frustrates me about my club. Our last qualifier was early october and our next won't be until mid march probably. Yet we never play on temoprary greens and the course is pretty much the same off the yellows as it is in the summer, maybe a fraction shorter. Yesterday i played, shot a gross 75 on our par 72 course and it meant nothing.

He's got every chance to get past my mark. No chance of playing this side of 2013 and I'll be surprised if the qualifying stableford on the 6th is played on a full course and therefore counts
You'll do OK in 2013 Homer, if you stay focused.

Maybe you two should have a little private (only tell the forum :mmm:) side bet...?
