There's a clip on bbc of smiley and caddy walking down the sixth and smiley sees the croc. The great big fairy.

Makes it worse that another guy walked up and casually gave the croc a tap & got rid of it.
Tbf I'd have probably reacted like Kaufman.

I was playing in Florida some 20 years ago and my ball ended up near a large log on the edge of the fairway. And when I got closer, the log moved slightly and looked at me. I used the old local rule of "the hell with that, I'll drop one on the other side of the fairway".

I'd have screamed like an 8yr old girl and ran like a maniac. No shame in wanting to live a few years more. I bet he over hit his next shot by a few yards. A bit of adrenalin pumping through his body after that.

Anyone manage to see the back of his pants.

re Croc or gator, I saw one in Mexico on the iberostar course. It was huge and I mean a monster. It was about 50 yd away. Still talk today about when Missis T pulled up alongside one that was chilling out at the side of a path. I initially did not see it. It was about 10 ft away and about 8ft long. It was looking at us and I don't know any croc language, but I am sure it was humming " eny meny miny mo" ie which one to eat first. Suffice to say, Missis T heard some of Tashyboys finest swear words in about five seconds, telling her to put her foot down.

A tip that someone gave me this week: if you ever have to outrun a croc, don't go in a straight line. Those guys are up to 40 mph fast, but they don't manage directional changes very well. If you zig zag away from them, you have a good chance of making it, because the croc is probably using sight of you quickly. (I haven't tried this, it was just a random bit of conversation that came up, because out pro had just come back from South Africa and seen a few crocodiles there). Don't know about gators, but doubt they would chase you at all ... as somebody said, humans are not their prey, they would only attack if they felt threatened.

Either that or make sure you are not the slowest of the four. 😜

I'm in the Cody Gribble camp here. Tried to do the same as him on sixteen at Sawgrass until the caddy stopped me going any closer than 10 feet away for a photo.

Is that a load of croc .There was an allegation read out at a union meeting and someone asked who's the Alligator.:D

Crocodile - Alligator

Grayish green color - Black in color
Fourth tooth on lower jaw exposed when mouth is closed - Only upper teeth exposed when mouth is closed
Narrow tapered snout - Broad rounded snout
Young are light with dark stripes -Young are dark with yellow stripes

Actually, when I am close enough to distinguish if only the upper or the upper and lower teeth are exposed, I'd feel way too close to comfort with either of them :D I try to avoid reptiles that are longer than three feet, no matter how many teeth or stripes or snouts they have.

not a bad overall plan there 😎

Not sure I'd ever put these theories to the test although the Sky commentators reckon they (alligators) run out of puff after chasing prey for a few yards. I have to say were I to be playing in Australia and South Africa, I'd be nervous about heading to the rough to look for my ball with all the creatures that could potentially be in there, especially the snakes
