People try to navigate the mud with fully laden trolleys is not helping the pace of play.
And....how slow do you think it would be for an old fart to carry 14 clubs (and kitchen sink) around the course?People try to navigate the mud with fully laden trolleys is not helping the pace of play.
I have had this conversation over the last few winter seasons. Navigating mud whilst carrying is an accident waiting to happenAnd....how slow do you think it would be for an old fart to carry 14 clubs (and kitchen sink) around the course?
Trolleys on the path at ours in winter. The path is mostly on the left and most club golfers play with a slicey fade, so there's a lot of waiting around watching people walk a 100 yard round trip to swap their 6-iron for an 8-iron when they duff it 20 yards. That's the biggest cause of slow play at ours right now.Trolleys are probably slower than carrying at my place in winter because they put ropes all over the place to stop you wheeling it in certain places. If you're carrying you can obviously just step over the rope and go directly to your ball. I'm sure my club isn't alone here.
Yeah. I personally find it annoying when I've just gone through the back of the green, need to see the lie before I select what club I'm using, but I have to leave my trolley 50 yards away and walk over with four clubs in my hand. Just another reason I carry throughout the winter.Trolleys on the path at ours in winter. Not as slow. But there is absolutely no need for anyone, let alone an old fart to be taking 14 clubs and the kitchen sink.And....how slow do you think it would be for an old fart to carry 14 clubs (and kitchen sink) around the course?
But then you couldn't play qualifiersNot as slow. But there is absolutely no need for anyone, let alone an old fart to be taking 14 clubs and the kitchen sink.
I’d like to see a 6 club limit when winter rules are applied.
Do you think that will happenI’d like to see a 6 club limit when winter rules are applied.
I'd like to see some people at least give it a try. Played my best golf of 2024 this winter carrying 6 or 7 clubs. Not as slow. But there is absolutely no need for anyone, let alone an old fart to be taking 14 clubs and the kitchen sink.

In golf buggies I Cary a empty pencil bag so if you need a 7 iron take 6/7&8 iron over to your ball.Trolleys on the path at ours in winter. If it’s a coc is it a qualifier ?But then you couldn't play qualifiers
3 club comps, 3+ putter etc aren't qualifiers as there's a limit put on the number of clubs and it's below 14.If it’s a coc is it a qualifier ?
Yes thought that.3 club comps, 3+ putter etc aren't qualifiers as there's a limit put on the number of clubs and it's below 14.
So, as far as I'm aware, any imposed limit other than 14 and it's NQ......

No, the comp contravenes the rules of golf.If it’s a coc is it a qualifier ?
Why is the course even open for "play"?I have had this conversation over the last few winter seasons. Navigating mud whilst carrying is an accident waiting to happen
