I had let my Skycaddie SG4 membership expire for a couple of months. On renewal today they only allow renewal from the date it expired. In order not to lose 2 months value I had to de-register it and then re-register and the subscription was then renewed from today

Hope this helps anyone in the same position!

it is a bit naughty imho for them to backdate it like that!! have seen a few posts relating to this, surely they should sort the system out to do from the date of renewal. Cheeky bar stewards ;)

Not very happy with SC and being fleeced every year. I wanted t download Carton House (good job I couldn't in the end) but as I only had UK membership they wanted me to fork out for European class annual subs for one download. Surely if they want to get cash in, take the subs you want and then let you pay for say 5 other course per year. What happens per se if you went over to Spain or the US to play on holiday. You've got to upgrade embership for one week per year. Been looking at the Garmin https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=261&pID=85255

Don't see why.

When you take out/renew subscription you are entering a contract for 12 months. Before and after this period expires you receive reminders but they don't remove your access to the courses when the 12 months are up. You are still able to use the unit (at least for a couple of months) so why shouldn't they back date it if you have still had access to the data - whether you have used it or not.

You know what the deal is when you buy a SC, so why complain about it when you are the one trying to get something for nothing.

HTH

:D :D

Come on Homer. As I said above. You know about the annual subscription when you buy the unit.

For European coverage it's £5 extra for unlimited course downloads. That's the approx cost of one course planner. For the (say) 5 holiday courses it's £1 each.

Depends on how you look at it but seems good value to me for possibly one of the best systems out there.
