Congratualtions to Skycaddie. Means they've gotten their place in the market assured, not that it wasn't already. But quite a boon for them to get backing from EGU.

Although I am a traditionalist in that we should all learn to use our eyes & other senses to play the game. I do believe there is a place in golf for GPS, in helping speed up play & in training our eyes what distances are on the course. Skycaddie & EGU have come together is seems & there is now a stamp of aproval of not only Skycaddie but also of GPS in general. Much in the way Motocaddy & the Europro Tour got together to make Electric trolleys fashionable for all.

GPS is the way forward for getting caddylike information for even the mere amature. We now have the electric cart to carry our clubs & GPS to tell us distances not only to greens & hazards, but also in some cases to keep our stats for us for driving distances putts taken, fairways & greens hit in regulation etc. What more could we want. It evens out the playing field once & for all, giving us the advantages the pros get. & we don't need to tip or pay our GPS & Electric trolley at the end of a round.

SkyCaddie have the best PR and Marketing abilities of all the GPS companies, hence this tie-up.

Good luck to them, what they really want to achieve is people using their brand name as a generic term for the technology (just like Hoover)

That is excellent news, as I can now seeing alot more clubs allowing them in competitions. If the EGU is backing them, they must be ok, right? So glad i went SC

I still think their web site is pants, and the download bit of software is terrible. It used to be way easier, quicker and better. Not sure why they changed it.

I agree, the site is functionally about as useful as the proverbial one legged man in the **** kicking contest.

I suppose it looks a bit more 'en vogue', whatever that is, and to some website designer nerd that's all that counts.

I never used the origanal site as I've only had mine a couple of weeks, so I can't compare. But I must say their new site is not the most user freindly site I've ever used.

At the end of the day as long as I get to download my course I'm happy with how the website looks. To be honest I have most of the courses I need either in my SC or on my user list so there isn't going to be too much heartache for me.

I think there will be an upsurge of clubs allowing them in competitions now on the back of the ECG backing.
