Skycaddie - map your own course question

Did the map your own course thing yesterday for a wee 9 hole course I play with Skycaddie. Front back and middle of all the greens which worked fine.

However I was a bit disappointed that that's all they let you do. I would have liked to have done bunkers too as that's of prime concern from the tee in choosing clubs.

Am I right on this, according to my booklet greens are all you can map yourself?

I think so.

Surely if you play it often enough, you know what will carry the bunker.

Out of interest, have you found out how to edit the stroke index on a self mapped hole, without re entering the green position?

Can you not ask SkyGolf to come and map it properly? (Do they do pitch and putt courses?)

Murph, it's a private course so Skycaddie wouldn't get the downloads so not worth their while.

I do know the bunkers but I would rather know exactly what the carry is.

Not bothered about the stroke index, why is that relevant to a yardage finding GPS?

It is all stuff that it puts on, so it might as well be right, rather than every hole being stroke index 7.

Thing is, I think they would still map it, as it is part of their selling point. Provided the course agreed.

Try them as I would say they would map it,the guy who does the scottish courses is excellent at getting them mapped and there aint many he hasn't done.

I contacted them just before Christmas about one of my local courses. Bragbury end in Herts

They got back to me pretty quickly, within a couple of days, and said they have sent the request to the local mapping agent. But all has gone quiet since.

So about 3 months and no progress. Not shown up on the course list.

I haven't actually chased them as I mapped it myself and I don't play there much now. So not a major pain for me now.

Could be down to the club not allowing them on to Map,I got this a few times...I turned up at 1 course that I knew if I got a skycaddie I would be using alot so was keen to do at 5.30am and mapped and got out of there before the Sec got there to ask any questions!

There are i believe 5 nine holers in birdie's locale, but only one that isn't mapped. The plot thickens. We're not in the presence of........no we can't be

Times like that I'm glad I got the sureshot, as I can mapall sorts of things on the course into the memory
