Does anybody else shake their head in amazement when this advert comes on? In one shot they’re playing in what looks to be a garage the size of a small hangar with a comfy sofa to sit on and a few garden implements hanging on the wall to make it look authentic. Then.... the family man is hitting the ball in his mostly glass conservatory or lounge with a large tv screen on the wall and his wife and young kids beaming at him. I can only begin to imagine what carnage. a well shanked Pro V could do to that house and family.

Just watched (again) about two minutes ago. Not only the setup in tha ad, have you had a look at the price? Certainly not an option for your average Englishman. Neither the house nor the budget will fit

The yanks love a big garage, but the bloke with the glass house would 100% have a GC quad not a skytrak!!

Do you guys not all have a spare double height garage you can kit out with a golf studio?

And my family also have a double height conservatory, where we all gather round to watch Daddy smash balls without a mis-hit each Sunday evening after our roast dinner.

How much is a Skytrak?

£1,900 normally but £200 pound off at the moment. You would probably also want the protective case as well for £150. That will get you started but the basic package does not give you much at all, the range data and functionality is very limited. To do anything useful you need to pay £90 per year subscription for the Game improvement package. That gives you decent range data and features and also unlocks the ability to play simulator software which is another cost on top ranging from £225 per year or around a £1000 for a lifetime subscription depending on which sim software you choose. Not a cheap toy when it's all said and done and that's not including a net, mat and a new house/garage to use it all in.

Out of interest what does a GC quad come in at these days? Given the repeatable annual fees surely in a couple of years that would equate to buying the Quad?

Think the quad will set you back about 12-14K so it would take a while. I think most of the big names have a way of extracting more cash from you after the initial purhase it's just the way it is. Last year Foresight introduced a $500 tranfer fee on second hand GC2's, so they are even making money on gear they have already sold once.
