Sky Caddie SGX or Garmin G6?

I dropped my Skycaddie SGX the other day and now it wont pick up satellites so I have concluded its bust.

So what do I do now....get a refurbished one for £90 or go and get a Garmin G6 £250, which is supposed to be the business!he UAE so i need an eagle prescription so by my calculations the G6 will break even after about 3.5 years.

I play golf in the UAE so need the Eagle plan at £40 a year......

However...leaving aside the economics does anybody have a view as to the functionality of the two systems...which one do most people prefer.

Skycaddie has come under some stick but to be fair mine has worked perfectly till i dropped it although I was getting a bit fed up with it as it seemed incredibly slow to boot and change screens.....

Any views?

I have a G6.

This is a cracking piece of kit, fast to get satellites good clear screen which I can read on a very sunny day and easy to use and I find it accurate enough, the battery will easily lasts all day too.

My only gripe is the stat tracking could be better, it's not that bad but I used to use Golfshot prior to getting a G6 and I feel the stat tracking was better on Golfshot.

Don't let this put you off as this is only a minor issue.

I have never used a Sky Caddie so I cannot compare the two.
