sir nick my ar$e

As for the Ryder Cup, it wouldn't of mattered what order our team went out in, the way America played was just too good for us, and the better team won. Just as Barcelona triumphed over Man United, just too good on the day.

hahahaha please...now that is twaddle!!

No, that's fact.

hahaha could've been better!

I'm sorry but to say they were better than us and no matter what we did could've changed it is so pathetic! " i'm sorry guys but there just too good...get your coats"

I'm sorry golfmad but your not coming to war with me...you can hide behind the sofa

No, it's called being realistic and accepting defeat with dignity. So, what do you think could have been done to change the outcome?

By the way, I don't want to go to war with anyone :D

the ryder cup is about team play which is a strange format for and singular sport. So its is up to the captain to assess his players to get the best out them playing as pairs! i was baffled by some of the pairings. They just didn't gel at all and i could see it from the start. very uncomfortable viewing. all his fault in my opinion as the players we had were just as good

Yeah, I agree with all of that, and your last point, our players were as good as them, yes, but not on the day. As far as I'm concerned, it shouldn't matter who they played with. Nick Faldo couldn't play the game for them, so not his fault.

Don't wish to fall out with you Pinseeker, but will bode you goodnight, - time for some shuteye.

I was told that a lady who has been a supply teacher for 30 years got a gong in these awards.

Basically for doing her job for 30 years.

Now I'm sure she deserved it, but tbh I really couldn't give a flying duck one way or the other.

So on that basis alone I'm sure most of us 'deserve' an award.

What surprises me is the fact that people get so het up about it in this day and age. It's a meaningless award, and anyone who insists on being called by their title ( Sir Alan Sugar, this means you ) is a total twonk as far as I can see.

So if Nick insists on 'Sir Nick' every time we see him on tele, then he'll drop hugely in my estimation.

I don't know him as a person, but having seen him ont'tele over the years I've always had him down as uncomfortable under the media gaze, but probably a perfectly normal person behind the scenes. With an extra dose of confidence, steely desire, and self worth on top. You don't get to be as successful as he has by just being Brian from down the pub.

He's never needed our approval, because he sets his own standards of performance many levels above our own. And if some see that as a character fault, who cares ?

Yes he's traded in a wife or two for a newer model, but is he the first person, successful or otherwise, to do that ?

And as for the Ryder cup. He was always going to have his own way of going about it. He craved the position, so he could be successful in that as well. And he failed. I reckon that would hurt him more in itself than any words of criticism here or anywhere else.

You want a nice guy you can have a beer and a chat with anytime you want ? Don't look for a worldbeating champion then.

Different breed. Different standards.

I'm glad she's acknowledged the importance of winning a major but it still pains me that he's got a knighthood. Great player but an ar$e of a person. picking his lovechold still for the ryder cup still gets me!

Hahahaha......are you still the bitter Scotsman??????

Never mind, maybe one day you'll win 6 majors, play in Ryder Cups, Captain a Ryder Cup team and donate a zillion quid to charities then maybe just maybe the Queen might touch your shoulders with her sword......or not? ;)

You too noticed the time of these posts the other night! Classic post pub forum talk! I must admit that I was desperately holding back what I wanted to reply at the time. Glad I did though.

well seeing as i'm only 16 and started watching golf 3 yrs ago i never really saw all of his golf, just highlights off dvds and programs but just by watching them i could see how much of an amazing golfer he was and also with the contributions he makes to junior golf is inspiring!! in fact i have a coach who bases his teachings around Nick because he feels that Nick's golf was so perfect that he found that it was a great example to use when teaching his students
