Ok I'll bite. The reasons and morals behind single sex golf clubs are so different from single sex gyms or swim sessions that they don't even belong on the same page.
No they're not. You just choose to have a jaundiced opinion of men's morals............. which we do our best to live up to.

Single sex golf clubs are about women NOT playing golf, it's about suppression, oppression, intolerance and sexism. Single sex swims etc are somewhat different...
What about the single sex womens clubs then?

different reasons yes. BUT at the end of the day it is to your benefit to have these "woman only" clubs whether for the people with complexs or those who are simply stunning and need hid from old men in speedos.
are most men off putting to woman in the gym/pool/whatever, maybe they are, we can certainly admit that their are certain of our gender who would indeed be more than off putting.
now im not saying that you are a ditherer, or a slow player or that you fit any of the stereotypical attributes of a lady golfer. but there are some who fit the stereotypes perfectly.
And then we have clubs which have been designed for the mens game, which dont arent ladies length dont have ladies tees and every member there is there in the knowledge that its a mens only club and they are proud of it. is that really where you want to be?
if woman go to great effort to avoid these type of sexist or whatever men everywhere else why do they strive to be included with them at their own clubs?

also, we are talking about sport here and across the board due testosterone levels and the femineity(sp) of most woman they are not in the least bit interested in sports nomatter whether they are good at them or not, they dont care about competing as much as your average man.
so considering only the numbers, sport in almost every area will be dominated by men just through sheer mass.
you cant do anything about that. i dont feel any one shuld bend of backwards for such a minority who would actually want to be members at a mens only club out of spite or indignation.
