I'm currently in the USA and have seen the putter I want at a ridiculous price.

However, I have not got a golf bag with me to put it in on the way back to the UK. So my question is, can you bring a single club back as extra hand luggage, or as an extra suitcase?

If it helps, I am flying with Delta, but the hotel PC is so bad I cannot load their page!

Can you not pack it into your existing suitcase ? I am assuming it is not a broomhandle.:)

Get a box from the shop and package it up, check it in as sports goods and you'll be sound, you'll get tin the conveyor with your luggage. I've seen boxes with clubs in the frequently when coming back from the US.

Agree 100%.
A couple of years back I bought a putter in US on the day of departure. Explained to the shop, they boxed it up & even put on a string handle, checked it in with Virgin Atlantic and it went as hold luggage. No problem.

Did the exact same thing in sept, just make sure neatly packed and very compact. US customs will likely check it and just leave a note inside saying so but then pack it up for you again.

If you can't get it checked on as normal luggage, I'd think it might be cheaper to have the shop pull the head and grip off it and have it restarted when you get back rather than pay for it as sports gear on the plane.
