help i play off 20 handicap my problem is eratic driving ,i feel if i can be more consistant with the driver my handicap would fall down to the low teens,i am a senior by the way.My short game and mid irons seem ok.
I use a Cobra speed LD 10.5 degrees have done for last 3 years Aldila nvs regular flex shaft,i am thinking of a Ping G15,the best selling driver for the last 3 months.......should i invest or not?i do have lessons occasionally, and usually come away ok for a couple of days, the go astray again any advise please?

personally i wouldnt just go on "best selling driver" get down the range with your pro and hit as many different specs and models as possible. you may find that something you wouldnt expect is what actually suits you best.

But thats my opinion.

as a fellow senior I recognise the problem - I think it's called memory fade.

just because the G15 is 'currently' the best selling . . . doesn't mean it will be tomorrow or that it's any good for you at all.

stick with the lessons, maybe repeat the dose more frequently?, try a lot of drivers and don't neglect older models or less brand-conscious manufacturers (MD, Benross etc)

Hi all,
I play off 23 and i have had the same problem with my driver. So far left it was embarrassing ,so for now i use my 3 wood and find it easier.
Driver taken to the range to get more practice and when comfortable i might put it back in the bag.
This great game, good then bad but we always come back for more.

Callaways still in the bag.

Learn how to use your current driver properly.
If you desperately want/need to change club try a few out, don't just plump for the best seller.

When I bought my driver, the club winning all the awards was the Nike Sasquatch. However, when I tried it I hated it. If I'd have just gone for it because it was popular I would have been very annoyed with myself.

As a very senior senior I use senior shafts in my clubs. Stiffer shafts tend to make me hit poor shots to the right.
Try different shafts and see which ones suit your swing.

Ditch it for a few months and hit your 3 wood....You probably wont be in as much cabbage......
