Shoe Advice

I found that the DNA fitting was a bit like Freestyle one size smaller but needed a wide fitting. Most stockists have a Footjoy shoe measuring device. Just set it up and if you find that the shoes come up a bit big then make the adjustment for width. I'm a standard width for a size 12 but at size 11 I am right on the Standard/wide fitting border.

I'm really baffled that people are buying shoes and think they can break them in. If it doesn't fit and isn't comfortable when you buy it - it never will be!

I bought the DNAs. So comfy at fitting and then when I wore them on the course I was getting a lot of wear on my toe. Started to think this was a £140 mistake but after 3 rounds they are perfect!

Also found out from the fitter that I have been wearing the wrong size shoes for 15 years. Who'd have thunk it!

Adidas are notoriously small, I need a size bigger at least if not 1.5.

I'm not getting on with a pair of FJ hydrolites, similar to you but by the time I wake up the following morning my feet are fine.

I think ink I just need to play more often.

I've got a pair of Adidas in the same size as any other shoes I have and they're perfect.

Where did you get fitted for them?

Where did you get fitted for them?

It was at my club pro shop. Had been arrange between them and FootJoy. The FootJoy rep fitted me and said that a huge percentage of people wear the wrong size shoes. Without really boring you, I have been wearing size 14/15 for years but that is only to accommodate the width of my feet. Am really a 12 wide.

The guy spent about 40 minutes with me and explained everything. Ultimately it's a pair of shoes but the guy helped me out a lot.

If you can't get to a fitting or can't find one most pro shops have the FootJoy fitting guide which will set you off in the right direction.

I've just bought a pair of FootJoy AQLs and they are really comfortable. I am a size 9 normally, and that is the size that fitted me in the AQLs. The interesting thing is I tried a pair of FJ Hydrolites and I would have need to go to a 9 1/2 (9s were too small, 10s were too big) which they didn't have in. Even within the same manufacturer there are size variances between each of the styles, as they all use different lasts.

Go and try on loads and buy what is comfortable. Not rocket science. What is comfortable for others may not be suited to your foot.

you may be suffering from plantar fascitis. http://www.webmd.boots.com/foot-care/plantar-fasciitis-symptoms-diagnosis-treatment. check out this link.I recognised the symptoms as I had it for around 6 months before i got the proper treatment.Got to the stage I couldn't walk 3 holes. absolute agony. ensure you have this checked out before trying new shoes as you may compound the injury. mine was caused by improper rehab following an achilles tendon snap.I had managed to drop my hips around 7 degrees and was putting pressure on the wrong part of the foot.hence the injury. sorted it easily by having inserts made for all my shoes that alter the gait slightly back into line.back to full fitness again and can now handle 36 holes carrying.
