Shocking from Titleist, not at all HAPPY!

I tried the Titleist 910 D3 today in 9.5 degree complete with the Aldila RIP shaft and loved it, absolutely loved it. I thought it was an amazing club, certainly the best driver Titleist have made in years. The stats were pretty impressive and blew the Nike Machspeed Black out of the water.

The launch angle and RPM came down and I gained overall 8 yards on the Nike. I was well chuffed, the look and feel was better than ANY driver I have ever seen or hit.

Anyway, I asked about going through to Titleist at Kings Acre to ensure that the RIP shaft was actually the best shaft for my swing. To be honest, I don't think it will be beaten but if I'm spending £250 for a new big dog, I want to ensure its the best I can get for my money!

Here's the bad bit. Yip that will be fine however it'll cost £40 for a Titleist fitting I was told! I assumed that I would get that back off the cost of the club when I placed an order but oh no, that's not the case. Its £40 and £40 is the price. FRANCE THAT am I paying nearly a fifth again on top of the club to be fitted. It should be a service. A free service. I understand that the facility may be abused however the way round that is charge £40 upfront. Thereafter, once the fitting is complete if the customer wants to submit an order then refund the £40. That way the customer gets fitted and it stops the time wasters.

I would have walked away altogether from this however I loved the driver. I will probably buy it but I am so so so disapointed that Titleist have stopped me from getting a proper custom fit. A multi multi million pound company, I THINK ITS DISGUSTING.

Mike H & co at GM, can any of you see if you guys can get an explanation from Titleist in relation to this???

Any mistakes, sorry but typing on an iphone in a van is not ideal! A very unhappy craw, not a crow or a claw, but an unhappy craw!

That's exactly the driver/shaft I got a couple of weeks ago...it's nice isn't it??

I tried a few shafts but went for the RIP one. £270-£50 for my burner which I grew to hate.

That's hardly surprising, given they're the same company.

I can only imagine it'[s because you're "only" spending £250, one would assume that if you being fitted for a whole set and spending £7-800 quid or more then the fitting might be included but I could be wrong about that...

I am aware of that.

Thank you now.

It was the same company, not anymore. Cobra is now Puma owned.

That'll be why everytime I'm across at the range at Kings Acre the Custom Fit Guys ar twiddling their thumbs and their bays are empty ! Now surely that doesn't make business sense !

If you were hitting the ball better than expected and cant fault it Craw, why chase the chicken when you have the eggs?
If you are really happy with it, what do you think you will get out of CF? another 10 yards?

Would have to agree with Brendy on this one.

What I got was peace of mind knowing that I had tried all of the options and ended up with the one best suited to me.

Would not be happy paying for CF either when most companies are happy to fit for free. Would be interested to hear if they do charge in Cambridge was well.

Also, now Cobra are owned by Puma, anyone know if they have their own fitting centre now as I assume that they are not still fitted at the Titleist place.

id be pissed. £250 smackers isnt small money, and like you id want to be fitted just to put to bed that my £250 had given me the best option. id be happy to pay £40 (based on it being refunded against my order).

Id be tempted to let my feet do the walking... and shove the custom fit along with the driver square where then sun doesnt melt the snow.

from a market leader brand like titleist, its disappointing.

When I went to Mizuno recently the fitting was free. They did make a couple of small errors and when it came to it and I didn't hit the Mizzy's better than my TM's - so I would have neen a bit peed off to pay for the fitting.

I did a fitting for Titleist irons at my local range and are very happy with the out come and now have a sparkly set of AP2 's

So, it's ok to pay for a fitting and take the money off the order but what if you don't want to order because the club/s are not what they are cracked up to be?

not happy with Titleist either atm

was going to spend quite alot of money on new gear with them /foojoy last weekned

and had a few questions (6 or 7) i needed answering b4 buying (cant get to my local pro to ask and tbh i doubt he'd know everything i wanted to know off hand)
and customer services for them are useless not bothering to get back to a potential customer.

ive since complained and not even had a response from them either.
it seems like they dont care

ive always over many many years used Titliest balls and various other T/FJ gear shoes waterproofs gloves bags towels brolly hats etc
and have championed them as a brand to friends, and to customers when i was an assistant

i am now seriously thinking of clompletely moving away from the brand all together

i know me moving away wont be felt by them or even matter to them in the sightest.

but i dont see why i should bother carry on giving my money to them ,when they dont give a monkeys about customers
