Sherwood Forest EGU Seniors live scores

Looking a bit windy out there this morning, took lad to East Midlands this morning ( 4.00am) and it was flippin biblical rain. Gonna be a bit wet underfoot with receptive greens?

If anyone thinks these scores aren't great have a look at the results on the England Golf website for the England Men's Senior Open held at Kirby Muxloe and Rothley on 1-3 June.

The winner was level par for 54 holes and +12 was good enough for top ten.

Yet the handicap ballot eliminated anyone over 5 hcp.

A lot better from Nick today, 33 points to add to his 27 yesterday and the winds up a lot more today, Dave (2Blue) shouldn't be long to come in now followed by Rick in about an hour..

2Blue is back in now, only improved by 2 points from yesterday so finishes the same as Nick in the Nett with 60 points each over 36 holes, tough going me thinks..

It was another tough day today and the course had seen a lot of rain over night, many bunkers still had water in them at our early 8.00 am tee time.

I started poorly with 3 points from the first three holes but three birdies on shot holes recovered my card and I was going well after 16 but a three put from no great distance saw me miss a 3 pointer on 17 and on the 18th tee I couldn't decide on my club, picked driver but wasn't committed, leant back a little on the swing and ballooned it into the wind and way right for three off the tee and a resulting blob. :(

Absolutely gutted!! Putter was stone cold today and I had 3 or 4 unlucky bounces but the score doesn't lie.
Started safely with 2 pars for 5 points but then had a 7 on the 3rd when my approach just caught the top twig of a tree and instead on landing middle of the green, nosedived into a soggy bunker.
Recovered to finish front 9 on 16 but back 9 was woeful....just 14 points to finish on 30 with another blob on the 13th (blobbed it yesterday as well!)
Think I'm 2nd in both comps presently but a few scores to come in where there were 33/35/36 so probably won't figure in the prizes.

Great 3 ball over both days with lots of banter.

Got the club championships tomorrow at Aldwickbury and then the Herts County Seniors Mon/Tue so plenty of opportunity to hit back.

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes for me, Nick and Dave.

You're still sitting 4th in the gross, which I know you look at most, there are a few still out there including my competitions secretary, Tim Barmby, you're still 2nd on Nett though so 2 good rounds still for the conditions which all the scores substantiate, well done
