This thread seems to have ben good luck! Which is also a load of rubbish... But when it's positive I take more notice of superstition ;-)

I'm a newbie golfer and I've shanked once in the past year on the course, but plenty of times during lessons or at the range when I'm working on new things.

For me, it's because I have new swing thoughts and forget some of my personal fundamentals such as keeping my arms straight.
