Shank !!! Where the hell did that come from

Went out for a round this afternoon, and played awfull. Hitting shanks.

I never hit shanks before. I'm not saying I don't hit bad shots but don't normally hit a shank
Almost walked off it was like I hadn't played before!!!

Get a small block of timber about 12" long (4"x2") perfect.....
Head to the range and place this about 2-3 inches outside your club head at address.....Swing away....It'll teach you to come into the ball at a better angle.....
Any funny business with your posture or your swingpath and you'll be chopping wood.

Thats true.
I've given up trying to demonstrate how a shank happens.

Check you haven't sneaked a little in towards the ball at address.
And......do you roll your wrists on the backswing?

I find I shank if I go back on the inside too much and then come back through with my hands to far forward.

I had 2 shanks yesterday Didn't play very well all in all.

i had one during my round last monday night.i was playing alright at the time and just put it out of my mind.after the round i had completely forgot about it which helps a lot.

it was a terrible lie at the time,ball well below the feet which i had again later on in the round and even then i didn't think about it.
