Someone from his home town has odds of 1000/1 on him winning!! with 300euros on it!!!

Hes in for a fortune now...the other two are throwing it at him!!!

He cant win the prize money can he?

No you have to be Pro to win prize money.

He wont be caring, more about titles for these guys.

Andy

Genius? Youre awfully cocky for one so young! What are you on about? Do you always just try and argue with folk on here? Its half a million euros! Of course hell be a bit mffed at not being able to win!

But even if he comes second or third he can't have the money, and he would have known this before entering, and I doubt he entered an event not planning on trying to win. I doubt he will be that gutted.

2nd is about 330k euros and third is about 187k, so if you were going to be upset, you'd still be gutted even if you didn't win.

Can he be about to win and shout im turning pro? =D

Looks like a good talent. I dont reckon hell turn pro until after the walker cup.

Its not about winning the money for these guys ,its the prestige of winning your national title against a strong field, the guys put in a great performance either way and he looks a heck of a player. ps they are level with 1 to play.

I'm pretty sure you forfeit any prize when you fill in and sign the entry form and declare that you are an amateur. I might be wrong but I don't think you can go back on this later.

What an approach into the last there! Took some bottle to hit the 3 wood from the rough and it paid off!!
Good luck to the lad!!

If he enters as an amateur then he cannot accept ANY prize money. Same happened to Danny Lee when he won a pro event.

I don't think he will miss out though in the long term. Sponsors will be lining up for his signature when he turns pro.

And all this while playing off a handicap of 5 according to SKY .....christ I wish I had entered imagine the damage I could do if a 5 handicapper can win it!! :D

Good old SSN....always spot on with their news!

Alan, he plays off +5.
Rock will never have another chance as good to win a big tourney. STill the cheque lessons the blow.
Fair play to Lowry, you could see the ocassion was getting to him but he pulled off some cracking shots
