Some of the shaft experts here might be able to help me.

In my driver I've an aldila dvs60 stiff
In my 3 wood I've an aldila nv 65 stiff

I was fitted for both. Was wondering if anyone could suggest shafts that play similar?

I'm considering changing both clubs and if buying 2nd hand if I could find a suitable shaft already in the club it would cut down on costs

I know you want to save some money but every time I have ever tried to save money on shafts/equipment it has back fired. I would have the shafts pulled and put in your new clubs.

Do you know what driver and 4/5 wood you want?

Ya I know what you mean. Might be better to spend the extra money and be certain. But I was thinking I could keep an eye out for potential bargains if I knew about similar performing shafts.

Not too worried about the driver but definately want a new 3 wood. Current one is high loft but want something stronger

Open to any brands/models, not set on anything in particular

I am thinking look on ebay for a Titleist 910 head or cheap head and shaft 3 wood and an adaptor and pull your shaft and put it in the adaptor. You then have a club that you can add or take away a few degrees of loft so that you can fit the flight/length you want, you can then sell the shaft on that you dont end up using.

To answer your first question though, you are looking for something with mid/low launch and mid spin.

You have been fitted for a 65 gram shaft in your 3 wood that is to my mind kinda light for a 3 wood so be careful not to get anything to heavy as there is probably a good reason for it.

Remember not all heads are the same weight and any change in head will affect swing weigh and have the shaft perform differently. If it's like for like then no issues.

My swing speed is around 95 mph with driver so maybe on the slow side, probably has a lot to do with it

Couple of questions first.

What sort of 'fitting' was it - American/Direct Golf type shop? Pro shop? Or specialist club-fitter? And was the shaft simply an option rather than a specially selected one?

Why are you actually changing? I know you said you wanted a stronger lofted 3-wood, but why do you want that? Is current one launching too high? Or too short? And why change the Driver?

What heads are the current 'pair' too?

Was fitted at www.foregolf.ie

One of the best in the business. They won world clubmaker of the year couple years ago

I'd like a 3 wood that will give good distance off tee

So why not go back to them - or at least ring them and ask them what they recommend?

Are you saying that the current 3-wood doesn't give good distance off the tee?

What loft is the current 3-wood btw?

Current loft is 17 deg. Was thinking something like a 14.5 might give another few yards off tee. I probably will go back to Foregolf, it would probably make more sense in the long run

Doh! I guess I should have checked your sig!

I would expect that going to a 14.5, 15 or even lower could well increase distance, but there may be an effect on the optimum shaft also.

BTW. Your swing speed is on the cusp of Reg and Stiff, so a 'light Stiff' sounds good to me (I'm in the same category). I am loving the 65gm Accra Prototype (became the SC65 I believe) in my (Old Skool) Sonartec. Quite a low flight, which I normally struggle to produce. The NV (green) shafts I tried in hybrids were hook machines for me. And I was led to believe that the Cleveland Ultra/Super Lite heads were hard to fit to shafts other than the light Miyazakis - and vice versa.
