I love reading the generalization comments saying seniors are all doddering old farts that take hours to get around. Try actually playing with the majority of them and try and keep up. Most slow play is caused by muppets that think they're better than they really are over deliberating on shots because they think if Tiger can play it and reach so can I!

My old man is 68 this year, had a hip replacement done through to much time playing football, still walks a hilly course in 4hrs or less in 4ball, plays off single figures and in the words of his club pro is the 3rd best ballstriker at his club. The 2 guys that are better happen to be a +handicap player and the other is my brother who is off 1. The old cart is also still bloody long. I'd love to see those stating how seniors can't knock it out of their shadows play him off scratch and keep up.

Senior doesn't mean incompetent coffin dodger, it means someone who's been around long enough to have earned then right to be able play more often now they have time to. Don't forget you'll all be seniors one day but of course you won't be like the rest of the doddering old fools!

Back to the OP basically play to the tee box that gives most enjoyment regardless of distance.

Reality is brutal .... They want to play for money and hide behind a handicap, so be it, but they won't get a game with me. Everyone is welcome to play off scratch, just try it in matchplay you will see how tight it gets.

Yup I know, sadly its a little early to think that they can not compete with the whipper snappers .. MAJ is proving it. Perhaps a reduction in tournaments they have to attend would be better, the schedule is probably more physically demanding than the golf.

They would be asleep then ... Or are the sleeping on the job because its a night shift? Besides you know as well as I do the majority have taken early retirement.

Old enough to think radio 1 is rubbish and to know that Steve wright is doing the same old radio show he did 30 yrs ago. Young enough to know that I still have a long time ahead of me before they pay me the state pension... Old enough to have learnt the game with balatas and small woods ...
