Seeking Golf Pro Career Info & Advice

I'm seeking professional advice about a Golf Pro's career, in particular pros that provide lessons. I have the following questions:

1. Are golf-pro's self-employed or employed? Does it vary?? If so what are the normal combinations?
2. What is the contracted agreement between the club & pro?
3. Is the pro solely responsible for gaining your own clients & marketing their own services?
4. If you are a professional, are you fully booked up with clients? What do you do when you are not fully booked?
5. Any other information you think would be beneficial

I understand there may be some plenty of variation between the above but if you could provide the most common that would be great!
