Scottish Fitba'

And elsewhere in Scotlandā€¦šŸ˜˜

St Johnstone overcome a miserable Staggies to restore their 8pt lead over Thistle…though Thistle have played one game less. Next up…Thistle on Friday evening at Firhill…live on BBC Scotland but me and my lad are going up for the game. Expecting a big away support. Big game towards who wins the title.
😓🤣

Kilmarnock played really well and kept the pressure up for 90mins.
Curtis had a superb game.
As for Hearts, some of our rivals are getting a bit overexcited but..........we still top the league. (y)

I see Finlay Curtis has been called up for the World Cup warm up games (y)

No Hearts players involved....not really surprised at that.
Milne was the only player I thought could be involved but he had a shocker on Saturday with Clarke watching.
Gordon, Shankland and Halkett.....maybees picked for the final squad but they are hardly 'the young team'

Picking my lad up from Sheffield at 12:30 heading up road for the Thistle game this evening. Sounds like StJ could have a travelling support this evening of well over 1000, with 1500 not out of question as a win for Saints would go a huge way to winning the title. Great crowds for the Saintees

When Hearst were 'banished' in the first year of covid.
They had a huge travelling support for their Championship games.
Home matches drew near capacity crowds and the fans got right behind the team.

The only thing I have seen online about last nights Jags v Saints game was the shocking off the ball elbow in the face by a saints player. How that was missed is a mystery.

I watched the second half and it was a tough job to stay awake. ;)
Three shots on target in 93 minutes.
The elbow was disgraceful, everyone saw it apart from the 4 officials, hopefully it will be dealt with by heid office.

Baird culprit. We missed it watching from the stand…play or at least my attention was elsewhere. Not a great watch tbh…much better 2nd half but not scoring when well on top is a pain…but the point is much better for Saints than Thistle. Was surprised that Thistle didn’t go for the win more. Saints away support was 1500..and that was good (especially given game was on the tellybox) even if the performance was less so.

But my…the main stand at Firhill that we were in is a pretty grim flashback to when it was built (1927). Can’t see where any money has been spent on it in decades.

Some of the old stands have terrible legroom. The average height of people must have been about 5 foot 100 years ago.

And the turnstilesā€¦šŸ˜³ Let’s just say that any fan of slightly greater girth has to be admitted through the Exit doors. And the toilets…honestly…primitive, but just as I remember them at any ground back in the 70s.
