Scottish Fitba'

Josh Fowler hopefully a good signing for StJ…has looked good all season and knows how to find the back of the net.

Picking my lad up in Sheffield tomorrow late morning as we head up to Perth for the evening top of the table match against Thistle. Going to be a long day, so here’s hoping it’s worth it.

Good chance of them needing it again later this season.

First time seeing them in the flesh this season. All I can say is thank god Utrecht were worse...
Barkas certainly hasn’t improved since he left us 😀

Saying that, Schmeichel was poor for both of their goals, turned what should have been a comfortable win into squeaky bum time for a few minutes.

Well…it was a long day and 640 miles round trip to Perth…getting home at 4am

The McDiarmid Park pitch is dreadful; first half was woeful; v poor goal for StJ to lose just before the break. 2nd half much better. Excellent Josh McPake goal - with him working hard to prove himself worthy of a starting position in the Hearts team of next season. But so much of the hard work and dominance of the 2nd half flushed down the pan in the 96th minute. Honestly.

Anyway. Nothing changes at top of table…2pts clear with a game in hand…with Josh Fowler looking a very good signing.

And 6,000 a pretty good attendance for a televised match on a miserable, cold and wet Perth evening.

Fair play to you Hogan, that's proper dedication.

Hearts now 7 points ahead [8 if you factored in goal difference]
Probably the easiest 3-0 win I have witnessed
United were just awful. Three red cards
Yeah, it's actually quite a concern now.. I thought they would've dropped off. But it doesn't look like they will.. Kinda minds me of when Leicester won the prem, we all thought they would start dropping points but they just kept going.

It’s my lad who is dead keen…in England he’s an Arsenal fan but doesn’t get to matches. So he just loves StJ as his Scottish team (he had no choice of course) and being able to go to matches - and the feel you get with fans of a much smaller club I guess.

Next up…The away match against Raith Rovers on Friday 20th Feb 19:45. Another televised match I guess. Maybe we’ll stay overnight up thereabouts rather than drive back.

And it’s nice dad/son time…he’s got plenty of ‘life’ stuff he needs the opportunity to tell me and discuss with me, and 12hrs there and back gives us plenty of time together.

They’ve got a couple of tough away fixtures coming up, St Mirren and Rangers. Feb is going to be an interesting month.

Falkirk played well, they had a go, unlike most teams who come to CP. They are a form team, knocked Hearts out the cup, then put 4 past Hibs
Agreed, Falkirk could of easily got a result as well, ended up watching the match and surprised how well they played, should easily finish top 6 on today’s performance.

bit of a strange one. He's going into their under-21 squad. From what I've seen of him, he he's nowhere near good enough to get into their first team. Can't see what's in it for either party tbh.
Looks like a loan that will only benefit Hearts, Arsenal may want to sign him if he does well in the u21 team.
He didn't kick on this year and I don't think he was a starter in any game, even with Shankland out

Update....Looks like a 500k loan fee till the summer then a £3.5m buy fee.
Seemingly Spurs were offering the same.
He started one game for Hearts
Good luck to the lad.

BTW his two younger brothers play for Hearts under 18's team.....£££££££s

I now think the Celtic directors have some weird bet going like the Duke bros out of the movie Trading Places. How they have managed to get through the January window with only signing loan players is staggering.

Wilson to Spurs and Evan Mooney from St Mirren to Arsenal.

EPL clubs ‘plundering’ young Scottish talent to stick them in development, academy or youth squads…not sure that’s great for Scottish football of today…same old same old…I guess.

However looking +ve maybe good for Scotland national team squad in the longer term if things go well for them.
