Interesting game coming up on Saturday for SJ fans - at home to Motherwell in the League Cup. Question in the minds of all Saints supporters is whether or not the idea that 'we're a better team than our relegated team of last season' is real - or simply an illusion arising from playing in a lower division. Motherwell will certainly test the idea.

I’m not sure what they saw in his CV based on his tenures at Swansea and Southampton. He has nowhere near the pedigree required to manage at a club of Rangers’ stature, regardless of actual achievements. The fact there is no real level of achievement just makes the appointment all the more puzzling.
What did the Rangers board see? It’s baffling.

Rangers are caught in a loop just now. They're up against a strong Celtic team just now. Also the non champions route to the ECL is very difficult.
I think the fans have got to give Russell Martin a chance, he's just in the door and has to imprint his football style on the players. Give him three transfer windows and if it's not right by then he's had a fair crack.

The Champions League money would be good but I would prefer to watch them in Europa League.
