It's all about tv audience. There's not one country in the world that has an SPFL highlights programme.
My opinion is that Celtic and Rangers are bigger clubs than the two English clubs in that tournament. It's about money and the league they play in.

Much is made of the "overseas" support for the Old Firm but how much of that does not have Scottish heritage?
That is, to my mind, why going forward they will not be seen by broadcasters and the football authorities as bigger than the likes of Chelsea or Man City.
Due to the worldwide coverage of the EPL kids in Asia, USA, etc; are aware of those clubs whilst having little or no knowledge of Celtic or Rangers.
