Scottish Fitba'

No pissing about from Desmond... It's hard to know who's side to be on...
If Brendan has sanctioned all or most of the signings then no wonder they didn't splash the cash with him anymore than they did... The majority have been average at best..
I still didn't think he would leave prior to the end of the season though..
Thinks must've really came to a head..

Like most of these things, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

But anyway, good riddance. He's had his time (twice) and left under a cloud (twice). Hopefully we can get back to the football in the meantime while they decide who to go with next.

P.S. Does Martin O'Neill qualify for the winter fuel allowance?? 🤭🤭

I honestly don't believe that's true. For example the Japanese left back they signed, Rodgers said he didn't know much about him but thought he might go out on loan. I'm not saying Rodgers didn't have input on some of the signings but there's no way he did on all of them. He also said Adam Ideah wasn't leaving till a replacement was signed and that didn't happen. I'd also hazard a guess that he wanted a proper cf and right winger in the last window. Celtic's last five managers have all criticised the board for they way they do business in the transfer market.

I'll be honest I didn't want him back but without a change in attitude at board level these problems will always be there. Dermot Desmond says in his statement that every pound generated is reinvested in the club, that'll be why there's £77 million in the bank.

You can't sack the owner, he's not an employee. The clue is in the title...

And he picks the board members, no matter how many tennis balls are thrown.

I never said you could sack him, just pointing out one of the main problems the club have no matter who the manager is.

What problem??

Let's look at it objectively. Celtic have won 19 out of the last 25 league titles and have won 12 Scottish cups and 11 League cups in the same time frame. They have been in a European final and also made it out of the group stages of the Champions league on several occasions. By any objective measure, this is by FAR the most successful period in the history of the club since Jock Stein's time.

What more do you expect??

The league has been a one horse race since 2012 and we managed to lose one of them. Look at the teams that have beaten Celtic in UCL qualifiers. Every time we got put out it's been down to not being ready. Every manager has had a go at the board for not getting transfer business sorted, but my ultimate frustration is that Celtic never manage to be the best that they can be.
