Scottish Fitba'

I don't see them as diddy teams but unfortunately for the rest of Scottish football there are two giant clubs in one small country.
Bournemouth and Brighton are doing well in England because of the TV money. I would say Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen are bigger than both those clubs.
That’s a pretty fair assessment.
The difficulty for Celtic in my opinion is, they are winning the league easily at the moment so the board won’t spend the money required to compete in Europe, although they are doing pretty well in this new format, but generally they struggle in Europe.

Indeed…and I’m glad you don’t…it just comes across that way from too many too often.👍
I think with the gulf in resources it's just natural that Celtic and Rangers fans think they should never drop points against the rest of Scottish football, the thing the makes football amazing is that sometimes they do.

There is no ‘Diddy’ teams in the league, I think your perception is all wrong, apart from Celtic, the rest of the teams can all beat each other on their day, including Rangers, which tells you how far they are off it.
Teams are pretty well organised and set up now.

Today, as every 2nd Jan, remembering those who lost their lives at Ibrox that cold, foggy night in 1971.

I recall so clearly listening to the radio as the news broke. Mum and Dad must have been going out for the evening as Mum was having a bath…Dad was out. I went upstairs and spoke to my mum through the bathroom door that there had been a terrible thing happen at Ibrox. The news and pictures that came out that evening and next day were harrowing.

Did it initiate change in stadium design…I’m not sure much came out of it. But I and all Scots who are old enough to be aware, never mind just Glaswegians and followers of the teams, will recall that dark terrible evening. 😔

I recall it well.
Strange set of circumstances leading up to the crush.
We could all imagine what being in the middle of would have felt like.

I got caught in a few crushes at Tynecastle back in the day, generally when the two big Glasgow teams were in town.
Fans changing ends at HT was always scary.

I mind being at Firhill in the mid-70s with my brother for an evening cup game against Rangers. At the end we were heading towards an exit staircase and the pressure of the fans lifted us into the air and off our feet and carried along. We could see the overhead light that was above the first step. We knew we had to get our feet on the ground - Ibrox was only 5 yrs or so past so we were very worried about us dropping down and stumbling after we were past the top of the stairs.

Well rangers have bossed the 1st half for sure.. Celtics midfield are miles off it... Need to get the finger out big time..

No complaints today. Rangers were the better team by far today and well worth the win. Celtic sloppy in possession the whole game, I was amazed Brendan didn't make any changes at h/t.
