Scotland Stag Golf Trip

Not sure I'd call any of the courses I mentioned parkland but all beautiful courses in their own right.

I'm interested to know what you rate as a great parkland course in the central belt? Haggs Castle potentially?

There is only 1 in the top 100, good luck getting onto Loch Lomond

Really? Not in my book. Decent but not great

I should add, why did you mention those course if you don't think they are parkland but the OP suggested a preference for Parkland?

I never said any were great, I said all were beautiful in their own right.

Incidentally not sure I'd describe any of the Gleneagles courses as parkland. I'd plump for moorland courses everyone.

I'm not actually convinced Scotland has an abundance of true parkland courses. Haggs, Glenbervie, Pollok??

Maybe you and others will know more?

Kings/Queens/PGA centenary all central belt.

Add the Dukes and Ladybank

I tend to think of the central belt as the M8 corridor, no idea what the official definition is

I would consider Aberdeen, any of the following

Trump
Cruden Bay
Murcur
Royal Aberdeen
Newburgh on Ythan
With Newmacher (Hawkshill) as you parkland option.

Fly in to Aberdeen hire a car drive to Edinburgh (2.5hrs) stay night return flight from Edinburgh.

Either way enjoy your trip

Dalmahoy, Duddingston and Ayr Belleisle.

BTW Belleisle course is fine but the surrounding bits, hotel/clubhouse etc is like a bombsite.
Development has gone Pete Tong and it looks like it will take ages to sort.

Alternative to all the above would be to fly to Glasgow then onto Campbelltown and play Machrahnanish Dunes and Macharhanish itself.

The Dunes offer an all in service including pick up and transfers from the airport. Stay at the Ugadale Hotel or the cottages. Dunes course is a 5 minute shuttle bus away and the old Machrahnanish course is right across the road from the hotel.

Two fabulous links courses and details for the Dunes here:

From there you could head over towards Edinburgh and the East Lothian courses if you fancy another round

You forgot to mention Dunaverty, immense hidden gem.

For a stag trip this is the way forward with drink driving risks, I'd certainly not be risking driving after a night on the swally.

Yes I did Andy! Haven't played it yet but hoping to do so the next time we head to the Mull of Kintyre
