What way does your clubs pay out prize money?
We have the overall winner then 3 sections, 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each section. Then a gross prize. But if the guy who win's the gross, is in the net prize they don't pay the gross out to the 2nd gross guy! But in Captains day and Presidents day they will pay the 2nd and 3rd guys out if the 1st gross guy is in the net prizes. We as low handicappers find this very unfair. After all we dont have much chance of winning the overall. I hope you understand what I'm asking here.
In other words, if the best gross score of the day ends up the best net of the day and overall winner, do you think it would be fair to reward the guy who had the 2nd best gross of the day.

We have 1st 2nd and 3rd per division for monthly medals and stablefords. In one off events (usually gold letter competitions) or in pair events it's a straight 1st 2nd and 3rd. We do however have order of merit points on offer down to 20th (I think) in each event too

Depends on size of entry and whether it is divisionalised (is that a word?)

Generally top 3 in each division, extending up to top 5 with a big field. Gross prize which is paid even if they have also won 1st prize too.

My old place we used to have to pay separately for entering the gross and 2's ie optional so didnt matter what you did in the comp you always got your winnings from these plus anything you did in the comp.

It saved people off say over 10 having to pay to enter the gross which wasnt really fair.

At the moment we have 3 divisions with 3 prizes each division , but no gross or 2's club :( , we do have order of merit points for top 15 (doubled points for honours board comps) , currently i'm top with 97 points ;)

We are top 3 nett in the 3 divisions. No Gross payouts.

2's are rewarded on the first medal of each month and is not charged extra for. It just comes out of the budget and is a straight £3 per 2.
