Plenty of posts about RC ups but do you have any downs?

Number 1 has to be the weather. If it had been like it was on Monday it would have been stunning!

2. The Tented Village.
There just wasn't anything to do. It was almost as if the organisers hadn't planned for a suspension of play.

3.Ross Fisher's collapse in the Singles. Being 3 up and losing 3&2 is some turnaround.

4. Harrington. Although he got 2 points, I feel he was carried by his partner and didn't contribute enough. We'll never know but I think Casey would have!

5. Kaymer's display in the singles. Before play this was a gimmee point for Europe - should do better.

6. The amount of golf I saw. £100 + carpark + B&B + food. The wrong side of £150 for 4 hours play and no hint of any compensation like the Sunday spectators had. OK I wasn't expecting anything really but its still disappointing.

7. Mickleson. Just never got going until the singles.

8. The 15th hole. Hyped up as a really tricky risk/reward par 4 or take the easy route. Nobody did, everyone went for it and most seemed to birdie it. Not as difficult as it was made out to be and not a patch on the similar hole at Loch Lomond (14th?)

The empty feeling when it was all over, and knowing it's another 2 years until the next one.

Sky coverage.

Gmac not being allowed to hole the putt to win the cup.

The Harrington bashing is way OTT. He did not play his best but only Tiger scored better than Zach Johnson in the singles.
Secondly you cant win a foursomes with one player playing like a hacker.

Europe won 14.5 pts and won the Ryder Cup.

I guess I was disappointed that Lee Westwood did not win his singles match.

Ross Fisher was poor in the singles but he played above himself on sunday so I did not see that as a disappointment.

Not really a disappointment as such, but I think it would would have been nice for McDowell to have actually putted out on the 17th to win the cup - I get the feeling that its not quite the same if your opponent just concedes, although full credit to Mahan for doing so. I doubt McDowell cares one bit though :)

Other than that, just the fact that I couldn't watch it live and had to make do with listening to it on the radio (no sky)

People kept forgetting Stewart Cink was there.

His own Captain in the opening ceremony and Monty going through the singles draw the night before.

He is like 6 foot 4, how can you miss him.

Teach him for beating Tom Watson in the Open. :(

I think missing him out at the opening ceremony did him no harm, and seemed to bring out his personality. One of the Americans that i liked.

Being a fan of the guy I always wanted him to win a major, just not that one. any of them but that one.

I think he came out very well out of the Ryder Cup which is good to see.

Nope.
Nothing.
Absolutely none
Whats to feel bad about?
We won. :D
Maybe if the weather have been a little kinder and it had finished on Sunday then that would have been just perfick :)

I would change me being in the office on Monday instead of being on my couch with the golf on. It wasn't really the same watching the BBC news live update thingy then the highlights later.

The cancellation of a Sunday at the pub watching the climax of the Ryder Cup with friends was really the only disapopointment.

I thought the 15th would be more like the 10th at the Belfry, rather than a long Par 3. Overall though, the course was a great mathcplay test.

Being at work all day Monday, and having to follow the action on the internet. BBC sports text update is pretty good, but no substitute for the pictures.

Highlights program was way too short, with next to no interviews.

Thought the interviews on other days were too biased to the Europeans, as every group came off the course, only the Euros were interviewed. Might have been nice to hear what the septics had to say.

You can get it live a number of ways on the net, and it dont cost any.

Kaymer managed it, apparently. Harrington played better in the foursomes than he did in the fourballs but a lot of pundits are saying his real contribution was reading the lines for Fisher's putts, not sure how much there is in that but it's an interesting point, if Casey had been playing instead, would Fisher have made so many putts without Harrington to read for him? And would Casey's own play have made up the difference?

+1

He was picked. They won. Get over it.

Obviously the rain.

But one thing that disappointed me that nobody else has mentioned (that I have seen) was the number of people that ran onto the 17th green once the hole was conceeded by Mahan. I know it wasn't the same as Brookline in 1999 where the match was still in progress, but the stampede off supporters showed no respect for the players or the officials of the game.

The green and the surrounding area (where Mahan was playing from)should have been cordon off, even if it was just a piece of rope laid on the ground.

Because of this you didn't get to see the players celebrating with their teamates, or the congratulations/commiserations of the two teams together.

Disappointed that I was not there in person!

Disappointed that the BEEB did not have the transmission!

Disappointed that Harrington was off his game - I think he is a super guy .... and golfer.

Disappointed..a wee bit... that more is not being made of the Yanks. I think they played and behaved in a true, sportsman like, manner and made this a superb spectacle for us all.

Disappointed NOT... I think this could be the turning point for Tiger to get back into the fold both with his playing peers and the public. His smile when he was informed that he sank that iron was that of a guy we could all relate to and miles removed from the target of fun he had become.
