Ruling please!

What would you suggest the player in front does? Walk down the fairway for a word? Wait until after the round and speak to them then? Phone the club and complain?

Yes - speak to them. Inform the club - all better ways than what i have seen suggested on here numerous times including hitting the ball back at them etc.

In my experience, speaking to these morons has very little effect, as they are never in the wrong you see.

You may have another 6 or 7 more holes to suffer from getting playing up on.

If you ban them from the course will it stop them doing it again? Don't think they will care much, do you?

Again what more can you do ? What sort of punishment would you like to hand out to them ?

What sort of ridiculous question is that? Where have I mentioned any form of punishment? I am only asking you some questions, am I not?

And i just asked what else can you do apart from approaching them and asking them to not hit the balls towards you ? Beyond speaking to them and then inform any marshall and then the club what else can we do ?

18th at an old course had/has potential for a bit of danger at times - from a sliced drive off the first. Having got a particularly negative reaction from a pair of members who didn't yell for 1 that landed a yard away from me, I've taken the 'act unconscious' option to give the next guy an appropriate message!

If it's the group following, I normally tee the first one that comes through us up. That normally stops in a semi-amusing way. It depends on the reaction to that what I do with subsequent ones.
