A group of golfers are annoyed that the group behind are not waiting long enough and teeing off a little early and said balls are getting uncomfortably close.

On a blind par 4 ( reachable in 1) the group tee off without ensuring the green is clear. The group on the green as a joke and payback decide to collect his ball and put it in the hole thus forcing the player to buy a round for his pp's for a hole in one.

In the bar, after drinks are baught he finds out what actually happened. Whats the ruling?

Well after the event there isnt much can be done bar DQ the player if in a medal

But the question is whilst the guy shouldnt be teeing off - to move his ball and put it into the hole is plain idiotic.

The simple solution is to talk to the person !?

I've just come back from la manga and over heard the heated discussions between the two groups. the bar prices where huge too!

I cant see what more can be done beyond a DQ in official comp which is unfortunate for the player.

Why idiotic Phil? After all the game is just a hobby right? Just a bit of a laugh eh??

Yet cost the guy how much money ?

And if during a comp its even more stupid to do.

Do you not think the guy is being an idiot by picking the ball up and placing it in the hole ?

Whilst the game is for enjoyment and a hobby there has to be limits.

I have been known to stamp as hard as I can on a repeat offenders ball, sinking it quite some way into the fairway, then watch them try and dig it out with a wedge! Numpties.

Nice big hole in the fairway after that then.

When i heard of what happened i did see the funny side and thought 'that will teach him'. However, if it was in a comp i wouldn't have thought it was so funny. Ish!!!!

After the wedge has dug it out as well

Dont think i have ever seen a plugged ball "sunk quite a way down the fairway"

Just simply replace the divot/divots. Simples.

I'm sure I read on here before where folk lose balls on fairways during the winter due to plugging/disapperaing in the middle of the fairway. Never happened me but sure it does to others.

BTW there is no excuse for hitting into the group in front.

Never any excuse to hit into the group in front - just always think there are better ways to deal with things than looking for revenge as such

The course? Well it recovered nicely.
Me? I had a smile on my face for the rest of the day.
The Numpty? He didn't drive up behind us again, so he didn't get any more plugged balls!

Everyone's a winner, and all's well that ends well.

The group from the OP are very obviously not posters on this forum, or they would have known that the accepted method is to write a simple 4-letter noun on the ball with a sharpie?
