Lovely photo's of a stunning course. I was up there in October and played it in shirt sleeves on a balmy autumn day. It tops my list of courses played and also has a sentimental connection as 24 years ago I got engaged up in Scotland while staying in the Royal Golf Hotel.
Ditto.... and will probably be there next year!! Woohoo!

Great pics, longer shadows of autumn create better contrast for photos I think, especially on linksland which can on camera look washed out in bright summer weather. Played RD twice back around 2008, tough but very enjoyable both times and really scenic. As good a course as I've played.
Dornoch itself is a mix of happy/sad for me at the moment as I spent my last proper time on holiday (non golfing) with my twin brother and our families there in July last year before cancer took him by the December. We wandered down the path at back of the 8th from the holiday house to the beach a good few times of an evening and watched the odd group play through.

I'm a lot straighter these days too Pat, courtesy of my Covert driver and these TM irons. I reckon if I avoided the bunkers then 40+ points would be on the cards.
I really wouldn't want to play Nairn again though mate. I found it too easy and got bored and throttled back on the home stretch.
I look forward to see you shoot 40+ point around Royal Dornoch... shame about Nairn, i was hoping you could show me how to shoot the lights out around there as ive never managed it.

The only thing I can deduce from that comment Pat is that you must be doing something drastically wrong.
its more like, i don't think you could dear boy, but id love to see you shoot 40 + points off the whites in the summer, which is a different course to the front of the yellows in winter you played during the CS meet.
The winning score in the stableford comps are usually never higher than 37....
