Rory McIlroy - Real World number 1?

In terms of ball striking then I think McIlroy is untouchable at the moment. Donald is at the #1 spot on merit based on the last two years but if McIlroy continues in this veing he'll soon be top of the pack. Either way the future of British and European golf is in great hands. Donald, Westwood, Casey and Garcia of the older guard are all playing well and you've McIlroy, Mannasero etc emerging to take over the baton - good times

Luke has ammased the same amount of points in 2011 as winning 5 majors would have brought. I think Rory has a lot of catching up to do but this race is great for the game. Woods was awesome in his day but world number 1 was a boring foregone conclusion. I don't thinnk he will come back to number 1 or win 18 majors to eclipse Jack

Spot on, I have to say if Rory could putt as well as Tiger could when on his game he would have won a helluva lot more, tee to green I feel the only player to touch Rory is Lee Westwood but his putting is also the weakest part of his game. Both these players hit an amazing amount of GIR generally.
