Just after watching this from last night. It was on BBC 1 norn iron was a good insight into his year so far. The cameras followed him from the turn of the year until his win. Came across as a really nice down to earth guy and from talking to people that have met him they all say the same.

Watched this today over my lunch break. Really good insight into his year and I think the one thing to take from it is the people he surrounds himself with seem to genuinely care about him. Obviously his friends and family do, but his management team certainly seemed to see him as a friend rather than a client or an asset.

That practice area he has though is incredible and you can see just how much thought goes into developing and harnessing his game specific to the events he has coming up, whether it's firing from different rough or making amendments to the green speed.

Watched this yesterday...what a genuinely nice guy!

I think Colin Montgomerie made a good point when he said Rory should have played in Inverness this week to get the back slapping ('Cheers mate') over, before the Open, as, he felt, this could be a distraction in the BIG event.

Rory, being a nice guy, could end up with a lot of 'back slapping' during next weeks practise.

I just dont like the way Monty is trying to become this father figure to "his boys".
I think Rory will be more interested in getting advice from the likes of Palmer, Nicklaus, Faldo, Player etc etc.

As said by another poster why should the fact Colin hasn't won a major mean that he cannot give Rory some sound advice?

Surely multiple wins and OOM count for something or would he be better talking to Todd Hamilton....

For what it is worth I think Colin has got it spot on,all the press will want to focus on is his 1st Major win and that could surely get in the way of him preparing for possibly his 2nd.
