He was in my year at secondary school, albeit it’s been a while - was a mate and is a nice guy! Funny thing is, I remember him being about a 12 or 14 handicap!

I’ve followed his insta for years, he’s got a great swing, which arguably is his main selling point.

Precision is 5 star, first class. You pay for it, but it’s the best you can get.

You’re not only paying for a knowledgeable fitting, you get a great level of aftercare at these places.

Not happy with something? Go back and they’ll have another look.
Lofts and lies? They’ll check them after you’ve had clubs for a while.
Damaged club? Doesn’t matter if inside or outside of warranty, their links with manufacturers mean they’ll replace it.

You could go to American Golf (don’t ever go to American Golf) and they’ll fit you in something that isn’t suited to you, if the clubs aren’t right they won’t want to know, and if the quality or equipment is faulty, well they will wash their hands of it (from experience!)

Does seem like a nice bloke, comes across well on his videos.
You can see he has a real passion for the game and his enjoyment of teaching shines through.
Seems like he’s done well for himself and good luck to him. Precession Golf certainly looks very impressive and professional.
Like I said if I lived closer I would definitely have a few lessons from him.

With someone like Precision what you are getting is true custom fit. They will match ANY head with ANY shaft to get the results you are after. What most others call custom fit isn't really that - they are helping you select an option. For example, today on the Titliest website there are 37 optional shafts. AG is helping you choose one of those 37. If you wanted (for whatever reason) the Fujikura shafts with you T100 that would not be available from AG as a custom fit.

Think of it like this. If wanted a buy a BMW 3 series you'd go to BMW and choose one of the models they offer. If you wanted a BMW 3 series with a Mercedez engine you'd have to go to a specialist to assemble that for you.

Furthermore - if you are getting a longer or short shaft or a thicker grip or more tape you are a absolutely changing the swing weight of the club and you should be getting that checked no matter who assembled that club.
And I can 100% guarantee you that even with thicker/heavier grips nobody is addy tip weights to change the swing weight back. 1 because you are adding more overall weight to the club which for most golfers is counter productive. Secondly if you tip weight the shaft to bring head weight up you increase the rate of rotation making it draw bias. Some tour pros might use lead tape to slightly change cg location within a head but that’s it

Reading this thread sums up society. People want all the bells and whistles but dont want to pay for it.

If you want a free bog standard Custom Fit session then head to AG or Similar. If you want a personal service then it comes at a cost. I'm sure his premises arent free nor is the equipment you're using. I've used PG in the past and can highly reccommend them. There's no sales bs. I treat it like a lesson also as you get advice on changes etc.

Think it's the level you want. I won't see the benefit from the service they provide.

However the guy I use (who is also the pro I get lessons from) is a fitter and he charges £50 for a fit. If you then buy a product he takes it off the item and price matches

I think that's very good value and he must be making enough money or wouldn't be discounting it off

So far I've got a custom fit driver off him (on another lesson he tweaked the set up as my swing had changed so just moved the head on the settings) and I recently got custom irons off him

Very happy with the performance, got to try lots of different shafts and head combos

Highly recommend

Obviously not in the same league as these guys

What is it that makes you think you wouldn’t see the benefit?

Quite often it is the higher handicaps who see the biggest difference from a really good fitting.

The level of the fitting I received from my pro (who like I said is a fitter) was more than enough

Lie angel. Shaft flex, different shafts, different heads. Different brands

All on qcquad

Found it very in depth

Precision golf seems a lot more but I fail to see what I can't get from my local I don't need to go any more in-depth

For example I could see in my driver sit just how the low spin driver worked for me, I went in wanting a ping and left with a titliest because the numbers were outstanding

I was more just picking up on you saying you wouldn’t see the benefit of a more in depth fit, not criticising what your pro had offered.

I’ve had fittings at PG and also from my pro who is a fully qualified fitter, both incidentally using trackman so data presented in the same way. The clubs I have from both work very well, but there is a difference between what is on offer from the 2 different fitting services.

One of the things I found most interesting with PG was how in depth they explain things. They’re expensive, but I think their service is good value.

I like the honesty about it, not saying PG wouldn't be honest but I found there was no hard sale

For example all the shafts (bar one) for My irons were free upgrade.. the one that wasn't was £25 per club , we tried it and the numbers weren't as good he said even if they were the same I wouldn't fit you in them as not worth it, only if they were really the stand out would I let you spend the extra

I've had a couple of fittings with PG as they're just down the road from me and I've never had any hard sale, they're just looking to get the best fit for your golf. I went to one iron fitting with them and I was absolutely intent on buying some new, shiny irons however having hit everything they had on the shelf the guy I had said it simply wasn't worth while at this point. Instead he changed the lie angles of my existing irons to make the a better fit for me and sent me on my way.

I've had driver fittings there including one last winter and the whole process is really interesting with the depth of knowledge they have. Granted it might be overkill for some but it's still a really good experience and there's no rush or any push towards any particular brand.

In terms of costs, for the driver I got fitted for, it was actually a little cheaper for the club as they buy in heads only and then fit the shaft so they're not having to necessarily charge for a full club and then a new shaft on top. They also don't push the 'exotic' shafts, you have a chat about what you want to achieve and you can talk about money. I wanted to hit the really expensive stuff just because I wanted to see what a £700.00 odd shaft would do for me (as it turns out not a lot thankfully), as we had a little time they were happy to let me do so.

Interesting , if they were closer I could see the benefit, the guy I use is 15 mins from my house and we use his fitting studio in lessons so if I wanted to try say a ping driver I could on a lesson do so

I do like the idea of their set up, maybe when I'm 50 🤣

I had a driver fitting nearly 20yrs ago .. and to be honest I enjoyed it immensely. I was a little budget restricted but I still have the shaft.
I am thinking of going back because I have generally fiddled with everything and got to a comfortable place but want to understand why and if there is any room to optimise from there.
Historically the pros used to have a favoured club and then match that so would end up with mongrel bags. So it seems quite reasonable to say I like my 5wood but my 7wood or 3 wood is not quite the same and my driver is a little away from that etc .. and I think precision golf are the guys to help.
