Hi all, my mate has recently purchased the Rocketballz driver, and his driving has improved immensely, whether it's down to the driver or not i don't know. You always hear of people getting the driver and their driving improving, but i haven't heard much of the irons. Are they as good as what Taylormade say they are? Feel free to discuss

I assume its probably the shaft in the RBZ is suited to him.

The immense improvement usually happens when someone moves from a starter set driver to a proper driver, the shaft difference there is usually HUGE!

Heads don't make a massive difference bar the loft and face design. They are all pretty much up against the legal limits, the big difference is made by the shaft and how well it fits the person.

Recently got the RBZ Tour 3 wood.
14.5 degrees with the X-con 7 shaft.
It's a more neutral head than my old Launcher and, to be honest, I'm hitting it miles.
Makes me wonder if I actually need a driver.........Honestly.

The only downer is into the wind. The extra spin over a driver stalls it - although its still going as far as CVG's driver against the wind...

Cheers for the reply ScienceBoy, he did get fitted for the RBZ which is probably the reason for the improvement, but do you know much about the irons, becuase i never hear much about them tbh?

Not tried them but believe there not a massive improvement on burner 2.0 in medium and high irons more gains in low numbers 4,5 as they've incorporated wood technology into the design.
Get yourself to try some and have some fun trying.. :-)

Funny this thread should come up.

I hit one (...out of boredom) down AG this afternoon and I have to say I wasn't impressed.

Made a horrible noise off the face, didn't like the white head at address and the shaft felt like it had been assembled like a toddler group.

Not for me this model I'm afraid. I much preffered the look, fight and sound of the 09' Tour Burner.

I tried them and couldn't get along with them. That's likely due to me and not the club though. I settled for a set of Callaway RAZR X HL. Me like these a lot.

I must be one of the few on here not to have tried the RBZ despite it being on my "hit" list all season and HID having the perfect registration.

The irons look too GI for my game and I think the R11 is more suitable for a lot of golfers. I'm going to have to get a demo model soon and give it a smash just to quench my curiosity

Well said. There's a lad at mine who hits the 3 hybrid about 240 yards. Into the trees mostly.

I'm led to believe the lofts are stronger on all irons compared to other sets I.e the RBZ 7 iron has the same loft as a normal 6 iron which in turn gives you the extra yards and something I personally wouldnt want. I like the driver though.

I've had a go with the RBZ driver, 3 wood, 5 wood and a hybrid and didn't like any of them to be honest.
I love my Callaway 3 and 5 wood so now looking to try out the driver to go with them but I'm not expecting it to stop my slice with a driver in any way shape or form as that is pretty much down to me trying to hit it too hard.

Usual TM marketing bollox!

I'm surprised they aren't saying 'the greenest irons we've made'!
