RIP Roy Hudd

when i was a child i was petrified or Roy Hud, my mother used to point him out all the time on tV and i'd burst out crying... no idea why though??

I suspect he was able to sit in a chair in later life and look back thinking 'what a great life I've had'.

As people have said, an old school entertainer and that is not in any way meant in a derogatory way.

With him and Doddy no longer with us, is there anyone else of that time and style left?

Tarby and Des O’Connor are still with us
Can’t think of many more ?
In my head they are slightly more modern than Ken and Roy but they aren't far away. That could well be perception by the way, not reality. The styles were certainly different.

We are certainly scratching around for names from that time now.

Roy Hudd was 83, Tarby is 80 and Des is 88, so all contemporary,
There may be differences in the age at which they became famous

It is just my perception then. Doddy and Roy Hudd loved the music hall and the history that went with it. I know they were too young for it but my mind links them to it. Tarby was always a razor sharp comic, Des went trendy in the 70's so I see them as a different era.

All very sad to see each one leave us but all of them have had a great innings.
