Anyone else heard or suffered from this? I've noticed lately that even when I hit a good shot It goes high but there Is hardly any distance on them.

I get similar distances with my PW to 7 iron ranging between 75 to 120 yards at full swing. From what I can gather I'm shifting my weight on my back swing and straightening my right leg instead of distributing my weight evenly and maintaining the flex in my legs.

It's frustrating because I never used to suffer from this but now It just wont seem to go away. I can hit a shot fairly straight as I've been working on moving my wrists through the ball. When I take a divot it ends where the ball is lying at address. Am I putting to much loft on the club or is it just a lack of power from just using my arms in the down swing??

sounds like progress as you were topping and slicing it 2 days ago :)

still think you are over thinking it

Yeah had my lesson yesterday my instructor checked it out and my wrists were practically doing nothing hence the slice and topping the ball. Went to the range today to work on my wrists and pretty much every shot was straigh or as straight as I can be happy with. The distance problem has been around for a few weeks but much more noticeable now I can hit a ball straight

So are you saying that, since your lesson today, you are making a Reverse Pivot?

Because that's certainly be something your instructor would have been keen to eliminate.

Does seem like you are over-thinking it!

@Duncan. Time we disagreed on something! :D

If I'm perfectly honest I didn't notice it happening during my lesson yesterday which is kind of telling me it's in my head. I was solely thinking about working my wrists and nothing else and I was getting some good results.

I suppose I've kind of answered my own question but its hard not to think about my swing as I address the ball. Hopefully ill learn to blank my mind as time goes on??
