my holiday on Thursday... if 2 weeks without golf is bad enough the only Engish speaking channel on the TV was the Golf channel.... which was just rubbing salt into the wounds - still watched at every chance tho:mmm:
Decided to enter the weekly stableford hoping that the break may have been the break i needed. Basket of balls at the range on Friday just to loosen up and remember what its like to swing a club... then got the call and picked up my new clubs on Friday morning, so it was these i hit..
So i turned up Sat with new clubs and having not played for 2 weeks had little expectations.... just go out and play, no swing thoughts just try an gauge yardages for the new irons ....
Anyway i started like a train 21 points on th front 9 with a blob on the 8th when i drove OOB..... only 14 coming back but enough to finish in 5th place (my best finish to date) but frustrating that i managed to 4 putt the 18th (missed from a foot being too casual) cost me a blob and 3rd place !!!!
But all in all got to be happy, i didnt hit many GIR long and short so hopfully when i sort my yardages out i may see further improvement !!
Not sure if it was the new irons, confidence that these are right for me after my fitting, the lack of swing thoughts or a combination of both..... either or I am pleased with the round !!
