Going to Cornwall for the weekend, two weeks time, and was going to book Trethorne and The Point, but noticed my local course was closed today, which surprised me as we haven’t had particularly wet weather lately.
Just wondered how wet the non links courses down there are at the moment?
We could book Newquay for the Friday, which is always dry, but its members only on Saturday, so still need another course.

We played Trethorne in September and it was wet then; I'd imagine it's very wet now.
Thank you…..we’ll give that one a miss then.
Last time we played The Point it was bad, and a few holes closed, but that was after a very prolonged period of rain.

Visitors can play on Saturdays at St.Mellion.

The Nicklaus is a fantastic course - I stayed there this time last year and despite the biblical rainfall it was playable.

Just take plenty of balls!!

The second course - The Kernow is also pretty good and shorter and less challenging.

We have a member of Newquay and our place, he says Newquay Greens are awful atm.
What about Perranporth?
Bude
Have played Newquay a few times, and it’s where we’re staying, but I’ve just looked and green fees have gone up from 50 quid to 80, which seems a bit of a steep increase.

I played Newquay which was great fun, and West Cornwall which was the same. No idea what they're like at this time of year though.

As a mate of mine once said, the dress code for West Cornwall should include a hard hat.

Otherwise quite a fun course.

Bude

I’m off to Cornwall (close to Bude) for a few days in May. I’ve negotiated a day / afternoon to myself where I will make a bee-line for St Enodoc..,
If I’m a lucky boy I may get a chance to nip out and play Bude as well. What’s it like? Recommended?

When Cornwall was mooted for a holiday spot I thought I could do Perranporth, Trevose and St Enodoc in a day and a half - but that was a pipedream!!

So much golf to play it seems with Mullion, St Melion, Carlylon Bay…yet so much golf I won’t get a chance to play..

I played at Perranporth a couple of years ago whilst on holiday in the area, don't know if they still do but then they accepted County Cards then, maybe other courses in the area take them, some great discounts available could make a big difference to the cost.
