Enough is enough!

After a year of tramping through tree's, rough, cabbage etc. the i15 has outstayed its welcome. I'm off to my local shiny sticks emporium to look at something else, I like the look of the i15 and enjoy the penetrating flight when i hit it well so maybe the obvious choice is a Titliest 910 or a R11 if I could get over the daft colour.

Is there anything else worth looking at? I dont really like anything that looks closed behind the ball.

The G20 gets a cracking review, it'll also be more forgiving than your current bat!

:p

I believe the I15 is a fade bias driver anyway. The shaft could also be too stiff for you if you say that your hitting the rest of your clubs well.

OK i'm back from the shop and i'm now the proud owner of a Titleist 910d2 with a regular shaft (the red one) on the computer thingy it outperformed the i15 in every way and it just felt better somehow(probably cos its new). I also had a go with the R11 amongst others and not only did it look weird but i just couldn't get it going.

Can't wait till tomorrow when i can get out on the course, unless i throw a sickie this afternoon :-)

Where's the phone :-)

Congrats, A pretty familiar response though.... So sound like you have the lightest and highest launching shaft.

Enjoy the new shiny, I would love one..

Congrats. A great driver.

I'm getting a little worried that I don't have the right shaft in mine! I'll be going back to Tandridge GC to check with the pro. :(

What makes you think that?

There are so many shafts for the 910, best to try somewhere that has them all and they quite quickly narrow it down to 2 or 3.

Switched to a g20 from i15 and the i15 is back in the bag already. Going to reshaft the g20 to see if it makes any difference. The tfc shaft just ballons it.

I'm onto my 2nd I15, foolishly sold the first one. was very happy with it until I spotted a D3 for sale on the fr sale forum so ended up buying it along with the 3 wood and hybrid. I always said if I bought an adjustable driver I would get fitted for the right settings so £25 later I was set up correctly with all the data showing the D3 putting the I15 to shame. So on to the course and I've basically concluded that all of the computer data is "BOLLOX", there is no comparison, the I15 wins everytime.

PING I15's ROCK:cool:

For the record I will be keeping the 3 wood and the jury is out on the hybrid, good club just no noticable difference to what I have

I would think that my 910F is the kindest club in my bag... I love the thing. The 910H is also lovely although not as kind as my 3 wood. I will get the driver when the wife gets back to work.

Another i15 man here.....Im in love with mine....The reason i got mine is i had went tjrough a few drivers and never felt confident or comfortable over them until i got the i15....

A new swing and grip and im hitting everything very well..
One thing i will say if that if you do tend to hit the ball all over the driver face the way the i15 is shaped it will punish you....But catch one from the middle and its gone like a rocket....Its a very long hitter....

One thing that might help is that when i address the ball i will address it out of the toe of the club, because on the downswing there is toe droop in the shaft and by the time you get to impact your actually catching the centre of the club.....Seems to work for me.

I wouldn't take yours out of the bag just yet...
As others have said get a lesson......

Just as a matter of interest, what loft is it and what shaft have you...And whats a typical miss for you.

The i15 was 9.5 with the reg ping shaft, the 910 is 10.5 with reg ilima shaft

My usual miss was a horrible smother, pull, hook with the occasional huge slice thrown in for good measure.

as you say the i15 is awesome on a good swing out of the middle but sadly i haven't had many of those recently :(

Maybe I know to get the best out it I have to hit it well and put to much pressure/expectation on myself leading to frustration when i'm trying too hard and spraying it all over the place.

I'm off 13 btw up from11 having gone up .1 in all but 2 comps this year

What makes you think that?
I've not been hiting it well at all recently, but it's going hook, slice, draw, fade and fat... and not in that order!

Can't adjust it, as there's no one fault shape to compensate for. So thinking it's either my swing or the shaft. But to get that variety of shots with it, surely it can't be the swing?
