Repainting my MP600

Need a bit of advice here guys,
was at a driving range about 3/4 weeks ago and i was practicing with driver and i started to swing down and i dislocated my knee
ended up scraping the driver through stones, so a part of it is now scratched and chipped, but it is only surface scratches, i only bought it 5 months ago, but i contacted direct golf to see if it could be done and they said it would be about £50, as they have to get paint off with acid and then totally re-do it, is there any other way that i could get it done, cant find anything on mizuno website, and im not sure its covered by warranty.

Sorry to hear about the knee.

I'd speak with the pro where you play. Failing that I would make do until you change. By the sound of it I don't htink the damage warrants paying that much

If you know a local car spray painter they can do it and bung it in the oven at the same time as a car. they do a fine job usually. Its all in the preparation, oh and make sure your local pro/club repairer removes the shaft first!

Not worried about the knee, just the driver.
Having looked at your bag, I would get a new Ping driver instead of messing around. It's about the only manufacturer you don't have in there or maybe a Titleist

Im a panel beater iv painted my own drivers and some of my playing partners and if your local bodyshop is quite im sure they would do it for you.....
You dont necessarily need to get the shaft removed either.
They wouldnt need to bake it at full oven temperature with a car either though.
The laquer that is used to give it a clear finish can be mixed with different speed hardeners so that the process can be sped up.

Says the man who has dreams about golf.....

The knee will heal in time - and he's got another one. He's only got one driver and that won't heal on it's own.
