When I was c/f'ed last year for my irons I was torn between px 5.5 and 6.0

The 6.0's gave the better results from hitting 30 or 40 balls with each, but I've always wondered if I made the right choice. Posting on another shaft thread just brought it back to me so I thought I'd ask the question.

The thing that makes me wonder if I chose wrong or not is that although the 6.0's gave the better results, the 5.5's 'felt' so much nicer to hit.
It's hard to describe but the best word I can think of is that the clubs felt alive with the 5.5's in.

So, did I make the wrong choice, or have I got 'grass is greener' disease? :D

Id be surprised if it made that much of a difference matey.
In the grand scheme of 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0, a whole point would be more noticeable when swinging it.

You didn't say which ones you got (or am I not seeing?)..

If you went for the less stiff ones, I say you did the right thing. Nothing worse than having shafts a little too stiff if you ask me.

I'm guessing he went for the 6's. Stiffer.
I don't think this is a bad thing. They should be okay, as if you hit them fine in the c/f session, but the 5.5s felt more ok, you must be borderline, so they went with the ones with better dispersion.

I could have gone S300, or R300. The distances were similar, and I felt ok with either, but the fitter thought I looked more comfortable with the Rs, and I got a slightly more consistent strike. No convinced if you are borderline it makes much difference.

Sorry, forgot to mention it was the 6's I went for because of the better results on the day. I just can't forget how much nicer the club felt with the 5.5 in. The ball did fly a bit higher though with the 5.5

I think I hit the ball well enough with them, and the fact that I miss the greens in all directions equally makes me think the shaft isn't wrong for me as such.

Must just be shiny syndrome. Damn whoever it was that posted the picture of the MB's!! :D

Forgive me for being blunt but yes you probably have made a mistake. I dont think you would be asking if you were completely happy with your lot.

You could always sell yours and get another set of AP2s with different shafts. I cannot speak highly enough about the AP2 I think they are an excellent club.

I opened this thread thinking it was gonna be about an ex- girlfriend whoes just won the lottery and got an amazing boob job done, a wee bit of lipo, plastic surgery and a little botox!

Now looking very HOT!

Shafts, who cares!!
