Ah ? stand corrected on that point but far too many are getting a bit tittsy about people liking posts - Wolf was correct he posted on the thread and should have not been brought it into - indeed people should never go “if it was your mum/grandma etc etc “ - it’s trying to make it personal on a very emotional debate
Some people' like' posts not because they agree with the statement but because they are playing games against someone they dislike. Dont they?

Only on this forum would people start analysing who likes what post to try and find an angle - many forums have a like functionality and not once have I ever seen people try and use it as a tool

If someone posts something I like - then I’ll like it - simple as that , if you want to read into it anymore same with others then that’s your issue to deal with - but ultimately it’s now diverting away from the thread which was the attempted point of my post

I suggest you check your account as someone has hacked it and put a like on post #19 Under your name. Of it was you it means you like someone’s opinion. someone’s opinion who went against my view. The emotional attatchment is exactly what the family of this murdered pensioner had. If you don’t want to be brought into the thread, you could of done that without giving support to others.

That aside this death penalty or not is a subject that has been done several times before whilst I have been on this site. It is like Brexit, Corbyn, Boris, POTUS. etc, etc. People will not change there minds and there’s a fair old chance Fragger will block the thread as once more it will get personal.
Im sorry Tashy but that is a pathetic come back and excuse as to why you felt the need the emotionally attach me to the crime. Also read what I wrote, after all you highlighted it in bold so I'm assuming you read it.. I said why have I been brought into the thread when I haven't commented on it!

I admit I liked the post #19, but you took the leap to include me by name in order to emotionally attach (guilt trip) me into your way of thinking about the death penalty without any quantifiable proof of what I thought on this matter.. For the record I'll often like posts that go against my own thinking, not because I agree with it but because its been well written and thought out.. But in this case I don't believe the death penalty should ever be a form of punishment I have many reasons for that related to perpetrators, victims, justice system and the executioner.

You've had a brain fart on this in that you took a leap to include me without knowing my thoughts. So next time I post and there's a comment you can "quote" like this by all means call me out but next time you see someone has liked something but not said a word perhaps take a second and stick to facts with people that are actually discussing the thread.

Going into the attempting to predict the future there - bit of minority report ?

You can’t go - well you might reoffend so to make sure that doesn’t happen we will kill you.

Being part of a civilised society is not removing someone’s life - where does the death penalty come into a civilised society ? It’s start becoming a bit of a red revenge and purely just to punish someone - killing someone as a punishment?

More and more countries are removing the death penalty for many reasons and this country thankfully will never go backwards to bring it back.

Are you saying that re-offending doesn't occur?
This guy has attacked, raped and murdered a defenseless 89 year old woman, are you sure you want to take the risk of him doing it again? I don't.
I genuinely hope you're wrong on the last bit in bold.

If you think I am emotionally attaching you. Then fair enough. But do you not think anyone else is emotionally attached to any murder. That emotionally attached that would be me if it was my mother murdered and raped.

So he is them removed from a civilised society and placed into a society where he is treated as a prisoner with no luxuries - 12 people or indeed person should have never have the ability to take someone’s life as a punishment to a crime

I don't want to pay one penny to keep people like him alive.

I’m not saying that at all - re offending does occur - but how do you know it will ?

How many of these horrific crimes has someone re offended to the same level when released from prison ?

If you put the offender in prison for life how many innocent people will he kill ?

And I don’t think I will be wrong

Unfortunately, that is something we just can't predict, it's just that I don't think we should take the chance, obviously where circumstances allow.

Death penalty aside ,we all have an opinion And most wont change it.
It’s the pathetic sentences handed to crims that annoy people imo.
Burgulars who get community sentence but have 20 other offences taken into account, he should have been in jail long before.
The more crimes he does the more chance he will encounter a homeowner who is not happy with him in his house, this leads to violence and eventually a death.
If someone gets 10yrs we all know he only does 5yrs .
The courts say well he did get 10yrs but we know that’s just not true.
The guy who won’t tell the mother where her body is , he needs to know he is not getting out until he does.
There’s a lot wrong with the justice system.

Did you name me in a thread and say it could be my mum? Yes you did, so I'm not thinking you emotionally attached me, you actually did and tried to use it to sway my argument even though i hadn't commented.

Did I say I don't think anyone attached to a crime isn't emotionally attached to any crime? No I didn't say that, I asked you not to attribute it to my me or my family who are not involved in this one..

Your replies to both my responses are a little sad, because your trying to twist things to suit. I've said nothing factual about the crime that's been committed, I've not denounced the feeling of the family involved, I've merely pointed out I don't appreciate beeing dragged into a debate i wasnt actively part of and that don't presume to know what I'd feel were it my family..

Try again with your next spin to change my mind, because trust me you won't.

Can I just add that even though I have liked this post it does not specifically mean I agree with it. Although I might. Well I do, but you can't assume. It is confusing, it's as if trying to infer complex human reactions, subtleties and nuances to a simple like button if you are mostly just looking to argue with someone is possibly not the best way for grown adults to behave. Also it's as if arguments have to be black or white and there is no room for 50 shades of grey, 'you don't think this person should be executed, it's PC gone mad!!!!'

I'd also like an unlike button as well which could infer a whole load of things, you disagree with the post, you don't really like the poster, you think the post is repetitive, the poster voted leave, they poster supports Man U, the possibilities are endless ;)

It does seem that SORRY is the hardest word to say on this forum.
If you get something wrong.???
I don't think it's hard to say more like impossible or simply refuse to in some cases. They prefer to continue to dig a hole, or like a toddler shout louder until someone gives in and agrees with them than simply acknowledge they got it wrong.
