Hi,

I wonder if any of you can help? A few pals and I are traveling up to Linlithgow for a golfing weekend next week and I was wondering what are the best courses to play around that area? We don't mind traveling but a 40 minute drive is the furthest we'll go.

I know there is an abundance of quality courses in Scotland but which ones stand out in the area we'll be in?

Cheers

Oatridge is a nice little 9 holer, is cheap and very close to Linlithgow http://www.oatridge.ac.uk/related_centres/golf_course

Linlithgow and West Lothian golf courses are basically both in the town but I haven't played either.

Uphall and Deer Park are virtually next to each other but aren't great courses IMHO.

Ratho Park and Dalmahoy are very nice and not too far away.

Enjoy yourself and play well!

I didn't enjoy Linlithgow but West Lothian is nice. Head into Edinburger and play Royal Burgess, Mortonhall or Duddingstone, all of these are beautiful.

The house I grew up in is a few hundred yards from the bottom of West Lothian golf course. I haven't played there for over 20 years but it used to be a very enjoyable course.

Quite hilly with a few big hills to play down/up.

I'll definitely play it next time i'm visiting the parents.

40 minutes from Linlithgow, where do I start?
Gleneagles is probably top of the list, but as said I too would recommend those around Edinburgh such as The Braids, Mortonhall, Dalmahoy (East) and Ratho
Further afield, but still within 40 minutes there are some fantastic courses in Fife.

Just across the water you have Tulliallan. A decent course at a decent price. It has its big opens next week and the following week so the course is supposed to be in great condition.
