Would agree with the "Samsung" recommendation Jon but not the plasma, not for 32". If Mansell had said 42" yeah, but a 32" LCD loses nothing over plasma mate

Depends how big your front room is, you need to be 3 meters away to get the best from a 32" and 4 meters for a 37", less then you are wasting cash on a picture that is large but has poor quality.

All screens will get burn in if left with a static picture for long enough. Ie dont leave your tv on BBC News 24 or SKY News where they have the news banner at the bottom of the screen.
Hence why pc's have screen savers also.

If you leave a static picture say BBC News 24 on your tv, the permamnent news banner running at the bottom of the screen will burn in. Over time and if left on frequently this burn in will appear on your picture all the time no matter what you watch. Bit annoying if your watching the golf and you have a red banner showing.
This wont happen quickly and would require the tv being on same channel but something to be aware of. Have seen it on a friends and looks terrible.
More prone to happen on a PC screen with no screen saver where you have a background pic on your desktop. If you minimize all your applications when you go for tea that image will start to burn in also.
