I agree with you, as long as what ever new rules you invent don't allow John Terry to play.

If it was Messi and Ronaldo that were missing due to yellows, they would be changing the rules this morning.

Agree to an extent but then it could be a Yellow card that decides the game,a foul that stop the other team scoring that is made as the player knows it doesn't matter if he gets carded as he won't miss the final??

This being UEFA's flagship finale and given the situation where both teams are equally affected, they should give each team three "freebie" cards to allow them to field their strongest sides instead of a bunch of stiffs. But this ins't Real Madrid v Barca and Platini is a French gobshite.
 
The rules are being changed so that accumulating bookings shouldn't see people miss a final. The same system is being used in the Euros this year as well.

Yes agree, if yellows are wiped out at the semi stage, some divvy who gets 2 yellows or one red, deserve to miss the final, unless the red is overturned.

Either that or miss 3-4 games (or double) of the following season in Europe.

The European players union FIFPRO have asked UEFA to rescind the yellows that have caused the bans as any yellows after the quarters in the European Champs in June won't be totted up after that stage and they want the CL to be the same. Can't see Platini being too fussed. He has Bayern at home so guranteed huge interest and money rolloing in nicely. When has he ever seen sense

Chelsea will have thousands of the old skool out there, the proper fans from the 80's and 90's, not the Knightsbridge flag wavers.

I remember in 2001 when England played there they lost control with 10,000 fans, Not sure how they'll cope with upto 40,000 Chelsea fans.

Could potentially be a disaster with Euro 2012 just 6 weeks away!

He will be seeing sense if he doesnt change the rules.

How can you play a whole competition with a set of rules and then expect them to change them for the final? The players who were on a yellow card going into the semi knew they would miss the final with another booking so they could have tried to avoid another yellow.

But hey dont let the rules or common sense stand in the way of having a go at Platini...if you want to feel sorry for anyone missing the final feel sorry for the Bayern left back who was booked for the handball which led to Madrids penalty which was never a penalty and most certainly not a yellow card.
 
Sky sports news this morning some journo said that a player tried this for the FA cup final and was told tough, he took it to court and they stated that they knew the rules when the comp started so they stand as they are!

Chelski will just have to manage with what they have, its a squad game after all so surely a few players missing can be overcome ;)
