Can't believe people are saying that LoTR's films where better then the books!! Peter Jackson ripped the whole series to pieces changed so many parts of the film. He's done the same with the hobbit.

Don't get me wrong films are good, but just not right IMO.

No mate, the films were truly awful, specially The Hobbit

The Hobbit is one film stretched out for 3. A pure money making exercise, but yes I will be there for the last one come December. I will stand by the LOTR films though. Absolutely brilliant.

Disagree about the |LoTR trilogy films - I thought they were good (and I read the books for second time shortly before the first film was released) - but as for the The Hobbit...

SiLH he's looking for a bite, he's out fishing. Graphically, action wise films are brilliant. Do they stay remotely true to the books no don't think so. Just my opinion.

Not saying they are better than the books - just that the films were pretty good - I thought.

I'm currently reading Body of Lies by David Ignatius, I've already seen the film (Di Caprio & Crowe) and enjoyed that, but the book is so much better. The same goes for most film adaptations, it's hard to get all the detail into a 2 hour movie compared to a novel.
